It's been a while since my last post. And for good reason; the political climate was becoming way too heated, then there was the election in November, then holidays, and just general business with the many facets that make up life. But a flap has arisen today about a letter published on a Jackson City Councilman's blog that has raised quite a stink, and which, upon further investigation, I couldn't help but feel compelled to write about. If for no other reason than I worry no local journalist shall cover the full story.

So, if you haven't seen it, this is the letter by a Linda Hunnicutt, posted by City Councilman Frank Neudecker today. First, full disclosure, I am Councilman Neudecker's neighbor, and while we have disagreed thoughtfully on public policy in the past, I bear him no ill will and will not attempt to ascribe the views in this letter to him. That being said, I have to ask, Mr. Neudecker, what were you thinking? Here are a few excerpts of some of the heinous and ridiculous things Mrs. Hunnicutt wrote (I won't even go into the birtherism):

"Tolerance has given us a country where the white people are so brain damaged and cultured they tolerate being controled by the likes of people we laughed at as nutty a few years ago.. Remember the little fatty fuzzy haired kook Richard Simmons?"

Tolerance has led to white people being controlled by... Richard Simmons?!?!?

"I am tired of watching my mouth, containing my thoughts within the tolerance level that is required in order to not be considered a total rebel or God Forbid, RUDE, or INTOLERANT. These people disgust me to the bone, their lifestyle should be kept in the damn closet not pushed down our throats as normal."

To be honest, the hatred Mrs. Hunnicutt is espousing makes me wish she'd keep her lifestyle in the closet and try not to push it down my throat. (Why is it that conservatives are always worried about things being shoved down their throats? First there was Obama's stimulus package, and now the gay lifestyle. Must you write the satirists' double entendres for them?)

"The white people are being transformed by a phony culture and we are not even resisting. Have you noticed that every commercial has black men and white women together, mexicans and whites, all multi racial people and all happily advertising what ever product or service ? Start watching, you will seldom see many white people any longer they are all mixed races or bi racial what ever you want to call them… it is like this is the way it is supposed to be."

Woah, straight up anti-miscegenation! So the obvious thing we should ask ourselves about Mrs Hunnicutt:

"So am I a racist? Not in my opinion By the way when is “WHITE HISTORY MONTH?” or “GERMAN ” or “IRISH ‘ or “ITALIAN ” or “GREEK” or any of the wonderful nationalities that came to this country the right way?

I hate the mentality of the KKK and the Arian Nation etc they are both ignorant and so repugnant in their behavior yet I am afraid these are the only white people left that will fight to be white.

Now all of you tolerant and anti racist readers, go to your emails and unsubscribe from the old hag of a racists news letter…. Maybe you need to stay in the sun a lot more and no one will notice the white of your skin… be sure to talk the gutter language of the hood and maybe no one will notice you actually say ask instead of axe?

Standard contradictory racist kookiness, right?
And then she goes full blown, Dr. Strangelove, libertarian version of Radiohead's 'Fitter, Happier', KKKrazy...

"Be sure to set a good example for your offspring, be a good government recruit, turn in your neighbor for having guns, for home schooling their kids, for drinking whole milk and eating good food without the additives to make them stupid and unisexual. Be sure to buy the floridated toothpaste to make sure they stay calm and their intelligence is toned down to be able to accept all of the BS that is going on now and will only increase unless the people who are not contaminated with the vaccines, mercury, steroids, harmones, medications that have eaten their brains up and twisted their thinking start standing up and saying what they really think, Stop being so tolerant and understanding. Were we tolerant when we bombed Japan?"

What's that at the end about Japan? Is she comparing tolerance of different races, cultures and sexual orientation to WWII and the use of nuclear force???!!?

She says of her daughter:

"I am proud of being white and I would not allow my daughter to marry into a illegal aliens family nor would I push her towards marrying out of her race, I would accept her decision and love the children but hopefully she would think hard about the life to come and about her own pride in her race and culture."

I wonder how much pride one can really have in a culture of intolerance?

Who exactly is this Linda Hunnicutt? Well to the best I can figure she is conservative hate-activist @GrannyWarrior, who among other things, is behind such racist screeds as this one entitled "Seeing Yellow Yet?" in which she calls for the reinstatement of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and the implementation of a Mexican Exclusion Act. And apparently she's considered a bit of a scam artist even among her own ilk.

She also drives this nifty Red, White, and Blue RV around.
She also has a nifty website with lots of dead ends and a seed store(?).
