In two days time I will be in sunny Chicago at the Pitchfork Music Festival. Oh, I am excited!
Local Natives - Warning Sign (Live on KEXP)
Fantastic cover of the Talking Heads.
But the big deal is gonna be seeing Pavement! I never thought I'd actually get the chance. A dream come true, if you will. Here's the video for 'Shady Lane', directed by Spike Jonez.
Pavement - "Shady Lane"
"You've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation Of the sequel to your life"
I'll probably take some video and pics and post 'em on facebook and twitter, with a follow up blog post next week compiling the best, along with my account of the fest. If by any chance there is a particular artist you want to hear about let me know.

Off the beaten festival path there's also this option to start off your Saturday just minutes away downtown. Sybris is playing at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park from noon till 12:45. If your unfamiliar with Pritzker it's in Grant Park downtown, next to the bean and surrounded by skrapers. With 8.0 and 7.2 Pitchfork scores from their first two albums this fits right into the weekend! And it's FREE!
